2009 Governor’s Health Bowl School Challenge

Step 1

Review the Governor’s Health Bowl rules and scoring.  Click here to review the rules.

 

Step 2

Send an email to Gina Legaz at GinaL@whf.org with the subject line “Health Bowl”.  This will let us know your school is participating in the 2009 Governor’s Health Bowl School Challenge.  Be sure to include the number of students in your school who are participating, as well as your most current contact information.

 

Step 3

Download the customizable information letter and send it home to parents and staff encouraging them to participate in the Governor’s Health Bowl.  Click here to download the letter.

 

Step 4

Each week, send us the number of miles logged by your school.  You can send in your miles to Gina Legaz by emailing them to GinaL@whf.org or calling 206-438-6110.

 

Step 5

Download the My Health Tracker to send home with each student in your class.  Encourage students to track their nutrition and physical activity with their families.

Ask your students to return the tracker at the completion of the 2009 Governor’s Health Bowl for extra class credit.  Then, add up all your students’ miles and send them to Gina Legaz at GinaL@whf.org

or call them in to Gina at 206-438-6110.

Earn 5,000 Bonus Miles Each Week of the Governor’s Health Bowl!


Complete each of the weekly activities aimed at implementing Coordinated School Health and earn your school 5,000 bonus miles each week of the Health Bowl. Each week, click on the corresponding link below to learn about Coordinated School Health.  Follow the week’s directions, complete the activity and receive 5,000 bonus miles—for a total of 30,000 bonus miles during the Governor’s Health Bowl!

Share this curriculum with classroom teachers and log miles from those classrooms for the Governor’s Health Bowl as well!
